Maker :
Robert Markham's known working dates were 1725 - 60. His son - in - law and partner was James Markwick (11) and he succeeded him on his death in 1730. They used the trading name Markwick Markham both in the partnership and later but Robert Markham also traded in his own name and with Francis Perigral as Markwick Markham - Perigral.

This triple partnership was much engaged in the export of bracket clocks to Turkey, including musical bracket clocks. The partnership also produced a tortoiseshell and gilt mounted bracket clock with a painted oriental scene for the Turkish market but perhaps in error the scene contained a minaret and a
Chinese figure.
