Case :
Mahogany.
Swan necks with carved paterae, brass finials and fine fretwork to hood arches.
Reeded pillars to hood and to trunk.
Long mahogany flamed trunk door with wavy top.
Flame mahogany base with bracket feet.
Width at widest point 22.5" (Hood).

Dial :
12.75" x 18" brass rolling moon against starry sky with engraved hemispheres.
Well engraved dial centre of foliate design.
Seconds dial and brass central sweep calendar hand.
Silvered chapter ring and Roman numerals.
Ring engraving to winding holes repeated on pendulum.
Matching steel hour / minute hands and Rococo spandrels.

John Scott of Dumfries was known to be working 1750 - 1770.
