West Country features of scalloped hood door edges and hood crest.
Choice well figured mahogany veneers.
Rope twist pillars to hood and to trunk sides.
Satinwood inlays to hood and Tunbridge inlays to trunk and base.
Two front feet only, as was the local style, designed to lean against wall.
3 brass eagle finials.
Width at widest point 19.5" (Hood).
Dial :
Painted 13" x 18.5" dial with automata rocking man of war flying Red
Ensign .
Old building scenes in arch
Roman numerals.
Matching brass hour, minute and second hands.
Aperture calendar 'mouth'.
This dial style was very popular in South Wales at the time.
Maker :
Probably Bimingham made and Wm. Isaac was likely to have been the retailer. Dial
maker was Francis of Birmingham.
