Mahogany with boxwood stringing to hood and case , oval shell inlays and 'bread
board' effect in base.
Matching reeded pillars to hood and to case trunk.
Original brass urn side finials and centre brass acorn finial (not shown).
Gold leaf painting to area below swan neck pediments.
Original feet have been reduced but are available for re-fixing
Movement/Dial :
Musical on 8 bells playing Westminster and Whittington.
Dead beat escapement.
Rolling moon with sea scape/landscape.
Strike/Silent.
Brass encased weights.

In c1842 Cribb acquired the well known chronometer business of Birchall &
Appleton from Peter Birchall following the death of his partner , Henry Poppleton.
Coventry Reference Library record his name as in Coventry to 1825.
