Square top hood with turned pillars to hood.
Long trunk door with shaped top and original lock and hinges.
Canted corners to base with plinth to base.
Width at widest point 21.75" (Hood).
Original glass in hood with flaws and curvatures.
Dial :
Square 12" brass dial with exceptional high quality engraving.
Halifax rolling moon featuring night sky and stars and a landscape.
Silvered minute chapter ring with well engraved half hour markers.
Original brass hands.
Plated movement, chain driven and large bell.
Salt box calendar aperture with silvered date dial.
Shell and foliate spandrels.
Roman numerals.

There are two makers of this name, a father and son, working at this time in this
region
and both were prolific makers:

Thomas Lister of Keighley.
Born 1717 and son of William Lister, clockmaker.
Apprenticed to John Stancliffe of Barkisland, then working in Luddenden, near
Halifax, where married in 1738.
Lived at Shepherd House, Lower Warley in Luddenden.
Clocks signed Luddenden circa 1742 until his death in 1179.
In his later years he is believed to have worked with his son Thomas in Halifax. |

Working Corner of Lord Street and Bull Green, Halifax c1760 - 1795.
Then partner with Bromley as Lister & Bromley circa 1801 until his death
in 1814. |
