Oak square hood.
Honey colour oak with mahogany cross banding.
Fretwork to hood.
Brass capped pillars to hood.
Pediments to hood.
Long trunk door with square top with Midland features.
Width at widest point 20.75" (Hood).
Ogee feet.

Dial :
Brass square dial 11.75".
Foliate engraved dial centre.
Silvered minute chapter ring and calendar dial.
Original hands.
Good quality rope style spandrels.
Matching hour and minute hands.
Aperture calendar mouth.
Roman numerals.

Maker :
Joseph Johnson was a particularly fine clockmaker. Advertised for three journeymen in 1770. Known working dates 1760-1795. He sometimes had his 8 day dial engraving done in Manchester. A near identical 30 hour clock to this was once owned which showed that Joseph Johnson used the same cabinet maker.
