Dome hood with arched dial, side windows, hood lock and side finials.
Brass capped pillars to hood and repeated quarter pillars to rear of hood.
Original hood door lock.
Long trunk door with dome top and original lock.
Applied panel to base.
Width at widest point 21" (Hood).
Dial :
Brass dial 16" x 12" with Automata feature in painted arch.
The Automata feature is Harlequin and Columbine dancing in period dress against
a ballroom background.
Cast brass spandrels of figures depicting the four seasons, used 1740 - 1760.
Makers name in cartouche above 6.00 o'clock on matted dial centre.
Silvered minute chapter ring, calendar dial and seconds dial.
Matching steel hour, minute and second hands.
5 Pillar Movement.
Salt box calendar aperture.
Roman numerals.

Daniel Tribe (2) worked in Broad Street, Portsmouth, Hampshire about 1784 - 1789.
He was mentioned in the Hampshire Directory of 1784 by J Sadler of Winchester
There was also an unknown clockmaker with the Tribe surname who worked at Portsmouth
Point, date uncertain but probably c1750. He may have been the Daniel Tribe above.
Daniel Tribe (1) worked in Petersfield, Hampshire about 1741.He was born in 1717
and apprenticed to his brother John Tribe of Petworth before he moved to Petersfield.
Altogether there are 17 known clockmakers with the Tribe surname who worked between
1700 and 1900.( A veritable tribe of Tribes ! )
